A Wildix partner in Dubai supplies, configures and supports your Wildix system, and connects it to a SIP trunk from e& or du. Choose one on who runs your trunk order, who answers when calls fail, and whether they can design around your CRM, your Teams setup and your number migration.

What a Wildix partner is responsible for

Wildix makes the platform, and a partner turns it into a working phone system for your business. The licences and handsets do not change much from one partner to the next. The design, the carrier work and the support do, so that is where your comparison belongs.

Wildix describes a partner programme with onboarding, training and a partner locator. In practice, a partner is responsible for five things:

  • Design. Choosing the deployment model, then mapping your numbers, departments, queues and out-of-hours rules.
  • Carrier. Working with your e& or du trunk and moving your existing numbers across.
  • Integration. Connecting the system to your CRM, Microsoft Teams and anything else that needs call data.
  • Cutover. Testing, moving users across and training them.
  • Support. Taking your first call when something fails, and escalating to Wildix where needed.

Ask who does each of these by name. If one of the five sits with "your IT team" or "the carrier", you want to know that before you sign, not during cutover.

If you are still deciding on the platform itself, start with our overview of Wildix UC&C. This guide assumes you have chosen Wildix and are choosing who delivers it.

Start with the deployment model

Your deployment model decides what your partner has to be good at. Wildix offers four ways to run the PBX: a cloud PBX hosted on AWS, a hardware appliance on your site, a private cloud on your own VMware or Hyper-V, and a hybrid that pairs cloud with a physical PBX for failover.

A partner who mainly sells cloud may be less comfortable with your on-site network, and one who mainly installs appliances may have less to say about remote users. Ask which models they have deployed in the UAE, and for a reference you can speak to. Then ask why they recommend the model they are proposing for you. "It is what we usually do" is not a reason.

The UAE carrier question comes first

This is the question that separates a local partner from a generic reseller. In the UAE, your phone numbers come from a licensed carrier, and no phone system changes that.

TDRA's published FAQs class VoIP as a telecommunications service, and name Etisalat (now e&) and du as the telecommunications licensees. Third parties may provide VoIP only together with a licensee or with TDRA approval. So a trunk carrying your UAE numbers to the public network is a product of one of those two carriers, whichever phone system sits behind it.

If you need a refresher on what a SIP trunk is, that guide covers it in full. For choosing a partner, four points matter:

  • The trunk is ordered against your trade licence. du directs new business SIP trunk customers to a store with their documents, and it states that it does not supply the PBX or handsets. e& lists SIP trunking within its enterprise unified communications portfolio.
  • Wildix setup itself is standard. The trunk settings in the Wildix admin interface take the carrier's login, proxy address and inbound dialplan. The hard part is rarely this screen. It is the route the trunk takes to reach the PBX.
  • The access method affects a cloud PBX. A carrier trunk delivered to your office is a different design from a PBX hosted outside your building. Ask your partner to draw how the trunk reaches the PBX before you commit to a model.
  • Carrier lead time sets your go-live date. The order, the access circuit and any number porting usually take longer than configuring Wildix. A good partner starts these first and gives you a plan built around them.

Ask any partner: "Who raises the carrier order, who chases it, and who is on the call when the trunk does not register?" The answer tells you how much of this they will really carry.

Integration: where projects quietly go wrong

Calling is usually the easy part. The work that decides whether staff like the new system is how it connects to what they already use.

CRM. If your team lives in Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho or Odoo, ask what the partner has connected before, what the integration does on an inbound call, and what gets logged. Ask to see it working. A logo on a features page tells you little about your workflow.

Microsoft Teams. There are two different routes here, and they are easy to confuse. teams4Wildix adds a Wildix tab inside Teams for calling, using the CLASSOUND service and a Wildix UC plan for each user. A second mode lets users dial from the Teams dialpad, but it needs additional Microsoft licences, a monthly fee for the PBX and more configuration. Wildix's integration guide sets out the options. Neither is the same as Teams Direct Routing in the UAE, which connects your carrier trunk to Teams through a certified SBC. A partner should explain which one fits your Microsoft licences, not just name one.

x-bees. If you want customer conversations on calls, chat and messaging in one place, ask about x-bees, Wildix's customer engagement platform. It is a separate decision from the phone system, so ask whether you need it now, later or not at all.

Security and compliance

Wildix states that its WebRTC media is encrypted with DTLS and SRTP, and its cloud PBX page cites SOC 2 Type I and Type II compliance. These are vendor statements about the platform, and they do not cover how your system is set up. Ask your partner who holds the admin logins, how they are protected, who applies updates, and how remote access to your system works.

If you make outbound sales calls, compliance is part of the design too. TDRA's Do Not Call rules affect how telemarketing calls may be made, and our DNCR guide explains what your phone system has to do. Ask how the partner would handle this on your system, and who stays responsible for it.

Ten questions to ask before you sign

Put these to every partner on your shortlist, and ask for the answers in writing:

  1. Which deployment models have you delivered in the UAE, and can I speak to a reference?
  2. Who raises and chases the e& or du order?
  3. How will the trunk physically reach the PBX?
  4. How do you port my existing numbers, and what happens if a port fails?
  5. What is the rollback plan on cutover day?
  6. Which CRM integrations have you delivered, and can I see one working?
  7. Which Microsoft Teams route do you recommend for my licences, and why?
  8. Who answers support calls out of hours, and how does escalation to Wildix work?
  9. Who holds the admin access, and do I get it if we part ways?
  10. What exactly is in scope, and what is charged separately?

The last two matter most. A partner confident in their service will answer them plainly. Contract terms should also state what happens to your configuration and your numbers if you change partner. Numbers normally sit on your carrier account, so make sure that account is in your company's name.

Beyond Dubai: the wider GCC

Many Dubai businesses have offices in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain or Qatar. Each country has its own regulator and its own licensed carriers, so a UAE trunk does not give you local numbers there. A single phone system does not remove that, because the carrier work still happens country by country. If you have sites outside the UAE, raise this at the start and ask how the partner would handle numbers in each market.

Frequently asked questions

What does a Wildix partner in Dubai actually do?

A partner supplies the Wildix licences and hardware, designs your numbering and call flows, connects the system to your SIP trunk, and migrates your numbers. They also train users and provide first-line support, escalating to Wildix where needed. Scope varies, so ask for it in writing.

Can I buy Wildix directly in the UAE without a partner?

Wildix runs a partner programme with a partner locator, and that is the normal route to a deployment. Even if you could buy licences elsewhere, you would still need someone in the UAE to work with your e& or du trunk and your site network, so plan for local support.

Does Wildix work with e& and du in the UAE?

Wildix connects to carriers through standard SIP trunks, set up in its admin interface with the details your carrier supplies. Your partner should confirm the exact trunk type with e& or du before you sign, and test it, because the access method affects how the trunk reaches a cloud PBX.

Can Wildix work with Microsoft Teams?

Yes. teams4Wildix adds a Wildix tab inside Teams for calling, and it needs the CLASSOUND service on the PBX and a UC plan for each user. A second mode lets users dial from the Teams dialpad, but it needs additional Microsoft licences, a monthly fee for the PBX and more configuration.
